Houston Based Criminal Defense Attorney
A criminal prosecution is stressful. There is the threat of incarceration. And in the age of background checks, even a misdemeanor can affect your career.
My name is Fred Dahr. I hold advanced degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Texas School of Law. I practice all aspects of criminal defense law and am based in Houston, Texas.
My goal is to provide you with an accessible, aggressive, and comprehensive defense at a reasonable cost.
Accessible means that you can reach me easily by phone or email. Accessible means that I will simplify difficult legal concepts so that you can understand them.
Aggressive and comprehensive mean that I take my responsibility to you seriously. It means that I will work hard to find any legal or factual basis to fight your case. It means that I am current on the law. It mean that I will explore any pre-trial option that may get your case dismissed including grand jury presentations, finding and interviewing witnesses, subpoenaing surveillance tapes and phone records, and motions to suppress evidence.
If you are a professional, I specialize in minimizing damage to and cleaning up criminal histories. The Clearing Your Record page and many of my Blog entries concern the effect of crimes on background checks for employment.
Please contact me for a free consultation if you:
- Have been charged with a crime in state or federal court
- Want to overturn a state or federal conviction
- Or want to expunge or seal an arrest record
I will vigorously represent your interests as I help you navigate the criminal justice system.
I will do my best to provide the best outcome for you.
Contact Fred Dahr directly at 713.884.5598.
If you are new to the criminal justice system, I recommend reading my Guide to Texas Criminal Cases and the #1 Mistake Defendants Make. Considering plea bargaining? Please see Warnings About Pleas. There is a detailed explanation about deferred adjudication and regular probation HERE. Finally, the Clearing Your Record page contains information for people interested in sealing or expunging their criminal history.
